It is official now. The budget is final.
If Franklin wants a library open more than 36 hours, they need to vote on May 22.
If Franklin wants to avoid laying off 70+ school personnel, to avoid major cuts to sports, music and the bus 'pay to ride' program, the voters need to cast their ballot on May 22.
The problem will not end with this override vote this year.
Much has already been said and written about what could have been. That is all done now.
The budget is final. All that remains is in the hands of the Franklin voters.
May 22.
The future is in your hands!
For the record, the Town Council voted 7-1 for the budget with 1 abstention.
