job search notes: gavel time
Who would you want to make the decision?
Have you prepared your resume?
Have you prepared your LinkedIn profile?
Have you prepared for the interview?
How do you do all these?
Participate in the Job Search Jam Sessions to be held on Friday, May 14th. The St John the Evangelist Parish Center is a wonderful space we can use to hold multiple sessions. The sessions will address topics like those above. If you would like to add one, or volunteer to lead one, this event is for you.
You can register here: http://jobsearchjamsessions.eventbrite.com/?ref=ecount
Note - you can pay via PayPal or credit card in advance or select "show other payment options" to reserve your ticket and pay at the door. Either way, your reservation will help us plan for the amount of people to expect that day.

Pet Peeve
Especially where there is software and versions and models involved, you should have an auto-detect for your own product so I don't need to select one and avoid selecting the wrong one.
The screen shot is from a Logitech registration page. They happen to be the current and handy item to slect for this pet peeve but most other vendors out there do the same thing.
This one in particular get me. The language selection indicates a drop down and there is only one choice (English). Some one was lazy and prepared for the future when they provide other choices I suppose.

Franklin: register to vote by May 21st
Visit the Town Clerks office at the Municipal Building.
You would need to register to vote by May 21st.
If you are going to be out of town on June 10th, you can pick up an absentee ballot at the Town Clerks office.
If you can't visit the Town Clerks office in person, you will need to write a letter explaining why you are out of town on the 10th (attending school, traveling on business, etc.). An email is not sufficient, they need your signature for the records so an "old fashioned" either hand written or typed note will do the trick.
Spread the word to register to vote. Franklin Schools need the money from this override.
If you need details on the Town Budget or School budget, visit the Town web site

PodCamp Boston 3 - July 19-20
After a few months of research and groundwork, PodCamp Boston 3 will be held at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School on July 19 & 20, 2008. We’ve scheduled it during the summer, when it’s more affordable for venues, and not *too* close to PME/NME and PodCamps Ohio and Philly. Here’s where it gets interesting. The venue, after all is said and done, will be about $35K for the amenities package, or about $25K for the space, plus A/V and Internet access.
PodCamp Boston 3 will be the first PodCamp that is also substantially sponsored by YOU. To help offset the fairly large price tag of the venue (and other schools & conference centers were of comparable cost), PodCamp Boston 3 will be the first PodCamp to revert back to the FooCamp model (the original unconference, before BarCamp) of using paid tickets for admission.
The Harvard medical school conference center holds about 400 people. With $50 sponsorships per person plus some corporate sponsorships, PodCamp Boston 3 should be able to break even.
We hope to see you at Harvard this summer. Sponsorship tickets are now available.
Click through to the PodCamp website to add it to your RSS Reader to maintain currency with additional info as it becomes available and of course, to register.
