The downtown area of Franklin was in a festive spirit Thursday evening as the annual Holiday Stroll took place. Sponsored by the Franklin Downtown Partnership, many of the businesses opened their doors to special activities which drew attention. A chilly evening was filled with happy voices of families as the moved from the Fire Station to the Historical Museum to the craft tables...

It was a fun evening!

Sticky buns

A key component of most Proulx holiday meals are the sticky buns!



Folks have been known to bypass the major meal items to have an extra bun or two. They are good!

Once upon a time, Allison and Carolyn went to visit their grandmother to learn how to make them from scratch. See the sticky buns have an ingredient that the Proulx daughters don't work with - yeast.

Come to think of it, have we had a sample of what they learned yet? I don't think so.

Merry Christmas

There is so much to be thankful for as we celebrate this holiday and slip towards the end of 2011. A lot of good has been accomplished with your help either directly or indirectly. Your words or actions have in turn inspired words and actions. The circle of life: living, learning, sharing and having a laugh or two.

Saturday sunlight pictures

A collection of photos from Saturday afternoon. Dolores was changing over the decorations from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I put the leaf in the big table to get ready for the big gathering for Christmas. I also had a brain storm on how to fix the persistent woodpecker. I got a left over piece of Plexiglas from Aubuchon and covered up the corner board where he has been spending time making the board look more like Swiss cheese. We'll see how that works.

Back inside the house, the afternoon sunlight provided some good photo ops.






And then it was time to vacuum! At least when you vacuum, there is clear proof of a job well done.

Greetings for Carolyn

Carolyn is studying abroad this semester and missed the family gatherings this weekend. We were able to Skype with her from the Proulx gathering on Thursday but she was traveling (your Mother wants to know if you study also?) and unable to Skype when the Sherlock's gathered on Friday.

We interrupted the game in progress to get a quick round of greetings for Carolyn:
