Start with aloha and trust

good morning, Thursday! clouds on the horizon, maybe the red sky will be a weather warning, meantime - make the best of it

A relationship grounded in aloha takes time to build. It takes time to build trust. The process is not a straight line, humans are variable. Powered by the intent of aloha, trust can be built and upon that base wondrous things can happen.

GM missed the boat with the NUMMI plant collaboration they started in the 1980's with Toyota. Oddly Toyota focused more on becoming #1 and lost their way away from the quality process that was at the heart of what they did. The recent "This American Life" episode brings these points together. Well worth the hour to listen to and realize what could have been.

Knowing what we know now, it makes more sense to start with aloha and trust. Don't miss the boat!
