Blackstone River: Then - now

With such nice weather on Friday, we took a walk along the Blackstone River Bike Path. Partly for the weather, partly to see how the river itself was handling the runoff from the rain we have been deluged with. The path had done very well, there was one spot near the beginning of the historic towpath where the overflow on the canal side washed out. Had the weir been in operation about 100 yards down the canal, this would have been avoided.

This photo shows the dramatic difference between then and now a little better:

The power of the water is quite impressive.
