The power of podcamp

PodCamp WesternMass 2 was held this past weekend on the campus at Westfield St College. Over 80 folks came together to share and learn from each other in the unconference format of podcamp. It was a rousing success! The power of the learning and sharing will become more evident as time progresses.

Already we find:
I want to dedicate this blog post to ALL of the attendees at today’s Western Mass Pod Camp 2! Thank you for such a wonderful day! For making me feel welcome and appreciated! A special thank you goes out to Steve Sherlock for making me realize my excuses were crap! Another special thank you to Kelly and Tom Galanis just for being the wonderful people that you are! Thank you Morris, Keith, Pat, and Jason for just being totally awesome! Thank you Alfonso for not thinking me a lunatic for trying to hunt you down! Thank you Dan for getting me to that after party! And finally, thank you Lesley…for always being there FIRST!!
This from Julieanne Krutka who just needed that little bit of incentive to just do it. Now she is on a roll and won't be stopped. Read the full post she wrote to recap her day here.

Steve Garfield of stevegarfield.com did a session on the use of video in social media featuring tips and tricks from his best selling book "Get Seen". One tool he highlighted was animoto.com. Pat Brough took his photos and using animoto created this very cool recap of the day:

Pat's video on Animoto called "Western MA Pod Camp 2/6/10": http://animoto.com/s/vCCpPSvdB5xMWNkmUx8a0Q

Pat also took video of the day capturing some of the highlights during the day (including a brief bit during my Blogging 101 session):

There will be more published. Check out the PodCamp website for the listing.

I'll have more of my own recap later.
