job searching notes - identify the hiring managers

One of series of tips from a local networking group of folks who are or have been at one time looking for new work. These are considerations; one might provide a disclaimer that the mileage on these suggestions may vary. Through the sharing and collaboration, these may at least spark some useful thought process that will ultimately lead you to a successful position.

Focus your job search on the companies you would like to work for. Then identify the hiring managers within those companies for the postings that have been posted. If you can get directly to the source, you can avoid the two gatekeepers discussed earlier.
