The flags are at half mast around town to mark the passing of Staff Sargent Robert R. Pirelli, the most recent of Franklin's two Iraq casualties. The Boston Globe provides details on the funeral held yesterday.

My friend's sister who both live in Franklin attended the services on Saturday. Also one of my retired military guys was a driver on the motorcycles from the airport when the soldier arrived at Logan. My friend said it was so beautiful how the community came together and how the young kids where touched by this said time. Thanks for posting that
